The Sandler Lanz Launch Party
8th March 2007, The Wallace Collection
- On the evening of 8th March 2007, over 170 current and past clients, colleagues
and close family joined the coaching team at the Wallace Collection, just off Oxford
Street, to celebrate the official launch of Sandler Lanz. The Wallace Collection's
newly-remodelled Sculpture Garden provided a really stunning venue for this special
occasion.
- For the past 10 years Catherine has lead Sandler Consulting while Kate has run her
own successful international coaching business. Since 2003, Catherine and Kate have
worked together very closely in leading the team and expanding the client base.
Their official partnership marks a new and exciting stage in the development of
this thriving practice.
- Andy Street, Managing Director of John Lewis, the department store division of the
John Lewis Partnership, briefly addressed the guests. He gave an exceptionally warm
and generous endorsement of the work that Catherine, Kate and the team have done
with John Lewis over the past few years. Referring to them as 'honorary Partners',
he highlighted the value added to his business by Sandler Lanz' work with senior
individuals and teams, particularly at Board level.
- Catherine and Kate briefly shared some of their thoughts and feelings about the
new partnership and the future of the practice.
- Catherine emphasised how fortunate she felt in being able to earn her living through
engaging in such rewarding and stimulating work. To be invited to enter the internal
and organisational worlds of successful leaders and to help them achieve constructive
change was a real privilege. She also underlined her delight at having such a high-calibre
team of coaches as well as superb support staff.
- Catherine described meeting Kate at INSEAD in 2003, where they were both working,
as the greatest possible stroke of luck, describing Kate as 'an outstanding coach
and a wonderful colleague and friend'. They had immediately been drawn to each other
through a mutual recognition of a shared approach. The common hallmarks of their
work was the combination of psychological and business insight with clarity, pace
and practical value.
- Catherine then recalled Kate's 'baptism of fire' when she took on her first case
for Sandler Consulting in 2003 - an exceptionally challenging one - and how effectively
she was able to help the client and his organisation. Since then, working together
has continued to be a hugely enjoyable and productive experience.
- Kate shared with the guests her pleasure in having 'come home'. Kate left the UK
in the early stages of her international corporate career. Leading multi-cultural
teams in different countries fuelled her interest in psychology and, after several
overseas general management roles, she trained as a psychologist and coach and established
her practice in Latin America and later in continental Europe.
- '15 years, 6 countries and 3 and a half languages later', Kate has returned to the
UK. Describing Catherine as 'the best executive coach she knows', she felt that,
in combining forces with her and the team, she has finally come home in every sense.
Kate finished by echoing Catherine's sense of appreciation at the opportunity that
coaching provides to work closely with so many talented and inspirational leaders.
